A lawyer by profession, he graduated from the Universidad Privada Boliviana in 2007 with a specialty in Corporate Law. He also holds a degree in Computer Support and IT Support, with a special mention in Linux Servers & Magento Software from the University of Informatics Sciences in 2015. He was subsequently certified as a Magneto Certified Solution Specialist in 2017.
Regarding his work and professional experience, Sergio Peñaranda has eight years of experience in legal and business management. He led the launch of BitNexo, a value-sharing platform between Chile and China, using only the Bitcoin Blockchain.
He managed Magento projects at Icommerce SPA, Coin4ce.com, and Octopus Digital Distribution SPA. In this particular case, he highlights his leadership of a team of 10 developers. Through the launch of the Magento store with 10,000 SKUs, he successfully reduced the time-to-market by 50% in four months, marking a significant milestone. He also founded Chile Bitcoin, a digital asset exchange platform, and served as a compliance officer at the Chilean financial institution Octopus Digital Distribution SPA.
He is currently a founding partner of Crespo-Zelaya Estudio Jurídico, where he provides advice to clients in the areas of criminal law, international law, conciliation and arbitration, judicial negotiations, e-commerce, strategic planning, and contracts. In areas related to technology and IT, his specialties include, but are not limited to, crypto law, web development, Web 2.0, Bitcoin, PHP, MySQL, and WordPress.
